  Minor Abdominoplasty

Frequently the patient presents with a limited amount of looseness in the lower abdomen, that is in the area between the navel and the pubic hair.

If the surgeon can not readily approximate the navel to the pubic hair, in which case a standard abdominoplasty is indicated, then a limited amount of skin and fat is removed. This allows also a simultaneous and limited tightening of the underlying abdominal muscles. The navel in this procedure is not relocated. Those patients who qualify for this procedure derive a great benefit and they remain in the clinic for a shorter period of 24 hours and their post-operative recovery is faster and virtually painless. The “bikini-line” scar in this operation is usually shorter than in the standard abdominoplasty. Again in this case liposuction may also be combined, if this is indicated.
